Message filters don't work across multiple computers
I have my inbox on a server, and access it either on my desktop computer or my laptop (never both at the same time). I have a rule to move messages from a certain address to a specific folder. This rule worked on all PCs with Thunderbird 2, however if I set up the rule to work on one PC with Thunderbird 3 it won't run on the other. Any way to fix this?
Message downloads slow
Has anyone else noticed that T-bird 3 seems significantly slower than T-bird 2 when downloading large messages? My inbox is on a server; downloading a 4 MB message on my wireless-G connected laptop took nearly 5 minutes. Main internet speeds are through FIOS, roughly 20mbs download speeds, so the network isn't the issue.
calendar for Thunderbird 3
I just loaded version 3 and learned that the calendar add-ons are not yet available for this newer version. When will Lightning 1 or an updated version of Google calendar be available for Thunderbird 3?

Yes, it is working fine, I can confirm that.
Multiple computers
If I have Thunderbird set-up on more than one computer and answer email on one will it show up in the other? Do they sync automatically?
Multiple computers
No, they won't sync up automatically. You need a single "repository' for your e-mail folders, and then you need to configure Thunderbird to use that location. You can do that with two PCs if you keep one of them on all the time, but the better way is with a server of some sort. I do that, but I'm weird - I have a full server setup at home.
Also, in my experience (at least with Thunderbird 2), you can't be in Thunderbird on both computers at the same time, it screws up the indexes.
Hope this helps.
uninstalling Thunderbird
I have had nothing but trouble with the program for the past 7 hours. I have lost important emails
All I want to do is get rid of it

Sorry guys, it may be an eligant program but it doesn't work for me
Too much pain already
Regrets

is there any developer API support?
I'm interested in the API capabilities and was not able to find much info about it. Can you provide some links about that?
Thanks,
Venetsian.

Thankyou Ken for your very informative reply. Being in a semi-rural area, there is little choice of ISP's. I may just have to eat crow, and tolerate poor service. Eric
Email address help
Is there a way to import my AOL contacts to G Mail. Have not had luck so far. Thanks
Here is a great way to get
Here is a great way to get your contacts out of AOL and into GMail, and it uses Thunderbird as a bridge. This is great for 2 reasons:
1. You get the full emails/names/phone #s info (not just the email address).
2. The contact list is available when you use Thunderbird as well as GMail.

Once again, Thunderbird rocks!
Great post
I was gonna post about it.

See my other response
See my response to ruthe6; two copies of Thunderbird do not sync up; they don't know about each other unless you are using a single networked location for your e-mail folders.
